After 2 years of labor of love, I completed this film in 2016 and have been doing road shows and screenings around India since then.

There are many hundreds of thousands of ”Barodians”, cultural enthusiasts, folk music and dance aficionados who would love to see this film, and would totally enjoy it for the story it tells. I wanted this film available for all of them to see.

The pandemic has changed our lives in a very different way. I think it is important to recognize the huge role art plays in our life. In these new times, we are all taking refuge in art. And I am hoping to help by sharing this film.

It is a film about coming together, an essential element in human society, which seems a sweet memory still! Our memories are all we have to keep faith in the future...

Soon I will start adding snippets on my Facebook page, my Instagram handle, and on the YouTube channel. Do follow/subscribe to the same.

Thanks for stopping by...

Aavjo!

-Shwetal.

From Baroda fine arts...and this film made me cry. Connected to so much shared...and sometimes feel where we have lost it . Is music only about plugging in...or about feeling becoming the song and rhythm. The very way film has been made has come from that space. Thanks for this. My homage to Baroda...me teachers colleagues garba singers and players and the campus we were so much a part of. An extended family.

Growing up in Bombay, I have done traditional one circle garba since my childhood with singing and dancing at the same time. Did not know the history of Vadodara garba. This team has made a very informative film on Garba with exclusive interviews with artists. Appreciate all the efforts made by each one of the team members. Kudos to Shwetalben on this concept and sharing this film with everyone.

Curious to see it

Jigitsa barbhaiya

It is very educative and answers the curiosity of thousands and thousands of people why we tell everyone, if you have not seen Garbas during Navratri at Vadodara you have missed an important event of your life. Would appreciate if you can share the link so I can watch the full film. Some of the events of Fine Arts are of those times when we were staying in the hostel and going to see them it was played without speakers. This was in 80s

Navratri is VADODARA is a feast to the eyes, and has evolved over four decades to its present form. It all started with the famous Archi Garba and the special steps unique only to our heritage city. Though I feel at times, the real ethos is at times lost in commercialisation. However, the singers and the performers are above all expectations. Have had fond memories of it.

Amish Mehta
